The year was 1967.
Gas was steady at 33 cents per gallon and a postage stamp was only 5 cents. If you went to the supermarket to pick up some supplies you’d find eggs were just 38 cents a dozen and milk cost about $1.15 a gallon.
That was the same year, Dr. Robert Hester opened a 1250 square foot dental office in Kennesaw dedicated to helping patients in northwestern Georgia have access to comfortable, compassionate care. At the time, Dr. Robert Hester and his small team were the only people providing any kind of dental care in the city.
Fast forward to 1992. Robert’s son Bruce was graduating from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry because he always knew, like his father, he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry too.
With countless hours of education and training behind him, Bruce started working alongside his father as an associate before buying into the practice later that year. With this new duo coming together to treat their growing family of patients, they decided it was time to do some growing of their own.
In 1993, they moved across the street to the 5700 square foot facility that Hester Dental Group still calls home to this day. The Hesters watched their new patient numbers grow, adding additional team members to the mix. Six years later, Robert retired to pursue the next chapter of his life.
Since then, Bruce has continued to uphold the tradition of serving patients with the same level of professionalism and dedication in a warm, welcoming environment established by his father five decades ago. With the addition of Dr. Andrea Feldman in 2014, the practice now offers even more advanced dental care through the use of the latest technology and techniques.
